Meet the Team
We believe in the power of education and customer service at Something You Salon & Spa. That's why we hold educational events for our staff on a monthly basis. From technical cut and color methods to the art of a proper consultation and communication, we equip our staff with the tools to make your visit to our salon the best part of your day. We strive every day to give the best customer service in town! Each lady is special in her own way and we pride ourselves on growing each one individually. The beauty of women is in our differences!
My favorite part about being a hairstylist is being able to make my clients feel beautiful and walk out of the salon with a bounce in their step. I started my career in 2008 and most of those years have trained exclusively with Aveda. In 2012, I became a Certified Master Colorist with Aveda. Because of the continued success of the salon, I have stepped out from behind the chair to focus solely on the business and training my team. Coaching these women has become a large purpose in my life. It is an honor to walk beside them in this journey of both career success and personal fulfilment
Over the course of my career, I have had many advanced education opportunities in cutting and coloring with a special focus in curly and thick hair cutting techniques, cut corrections, razor cutting, fusion extensions and natural coloring applications. I am very active in training my staff in these areas as well.
I am a nationally published artist with wedding hair and makeup, and had the opportunity to style hair in New York Fashion Week and New York Bridal Fashion Week in 2017.
It is my hope that your visit to our salon is the best part of your day! I am truly honored to have you as a guest in my business.
I always knew the beauty field was the place for me. I graduated a year early in high school as a junior, just so I could start my career faster. When I was 16, all my hard work actually won me a full ride scholarship to Regency Beauty Institute in Champaign Il. In May of 2016, I was blessed with the opportunity to work at Something You Salon & spa. While I was still finishing school, I had the honor to train under Amanda, and I learned so much including specialized cutting such as razor cutting and curly hair technics.
Since graduating beauty school in September of 2016, I’ve been through many top education courses through Aveda, taught by some of the best. These classes have taught me advanced techniques in hair cutting and coloring, and also have earned myself a training/management position here at Something You.
I specialize in creating custom hair colors, ranging from loud, fun fashion colors to subtle lived in color. Along with textured razor cuts, trendy bobs, and special occasion hair and makeup. I am also certified in fusion and tape in extensions.
It’s my passion in life to make people fall in love with themselves and feel confident and happy. I look forward to meeting you soon!
I’ve been blessed with my gift for esthetics from a young age. After 21 years, my passion for my career continues to grow. It’s been my honor to be Advanced Aveda trained by the best in the industry, Horst Rechelbacher, the father of Safe Cosmetics, and Helga Hefner, AVEDA’s global educator. I pride myself on continuing my education to keep up with the latest industry standards. My approach is centered on natural skin care treatments, through the use of soothing essential oils which enhance the overall experience for all skin types. My customized flower and plant derived facials bring back a healthy, radiant, luminous glow while nurturing the mind through healing touch. I would love to share my knowledge and experience while treating your skin naturally; without the damage caused by harsh chemicals. In addition to skin care, I offer a full range of waxing, both facial and body. It is with great anticipation that I look forward to serving all your holistic skin care needs
I knew from a young age that I wanted a career in cosmetology. It all started with my older brother, Kyle. At the age of 10, he made me color his hair orange for his first drivers license picture. My mom was so mad at my brother but was proud of me for how it turned out. I've had a love affair with hair ever since!
I studied at the Aveda Institute of Chicago in 2011, and have been an Aveda artist ever since. I excel in all aspects of hair but thoroughly enjoy short haircuts. I love doing unique colors as well as challenging myself to color match a guest so we can achieve a natural result. I am also certified in both fusion and tape in extensions.
I have continued my education by enrolling in advanced Aveda courses at the institute as well as in salon. During my time in Chicago, I held the top spot in my class. Holding that position allowed me to participate in fashion shows and photo shoots. I am thrilled to use that experience with our onsite weddings and styled shoots!
I look forward to having you in my chair!
Guest Services Lead
I moved to Champaign for a change of scenery a few years ago after spending most of my life in Southern Illinois. I’ve been acting since I was really young, but while I’m making that dream a reality, customer service is such a great way for me to be the extrovert I am! I have always loved working with people, but working in an environment where guests leave feeling so good about themselves that is so rewarding! I love communicating with our guests and being one of the first to see their excitement after a service. The women here at Something You are empowering, kind, and overall wonderful women who make working here so special, and I’m lucky to continue to grow with them every day!
I decided to join this industry because hair and beauty have always been my passion! There is nothing more rewarding than to see your guest leave feeling beautiful and happy! I graduated from Regency Beauty Institute in Champaign IL and have now been in this industry since 2015. My specialties include a variety of color techniques including balayage and ombre, and I excel at natural foiling techniques as well as short, textured cuts. I love complementing every color with a cut and a style that guests can easily recreate at home and fits their personality! The most important thing to me in this industry is never stop learning or listening to those who are willing to share their knowledge. I look forward to the future and building life- long relationships with all of my guests!
I've Had a passion for doing hair since I was very young. I've always loved making people feel beautiful and brightening their day with a great cut or color. Color is my biggest passion, and I pride myself on taking as many continuing education classes as I can to learn new techniques. Being in the industry for over 5 years, I have loved seeing how trends change over time. I strongly believe it's important to keep up to date and educated on the newest styles. I'm so very luck to have found a salon that holds up to high education standards with an amazing product line to work with. I love how happy Something You makes me and can't wait to share the experience with you!
I have always loved getting people “glammed up” by doing their hair and makeup for dances, dates, or big events during my high school years. This is where my love for the styling and makeup started. Seeing my clients leave feeling beautiful and special for their event is what inspires me. Through these experiences, I decided to go into the beauty industry. I graduated from Pivot Point Academy in Bloomingdale, IL in June of 2019 with a new love for coloring and cutting.
I enjoy all parts of doing hair, but my biggest passions include women with long layered cuts and any kind of lived-in color like balayage and blended foils. My excitement and love for the bridal industry grows everyday as I learn from my teammates around me. As I continue in my beauty career, I look to learn and perfect new techniques! I am so excited to be working in a salon that is so centered around education and excellence. I look forward to learning from others around me.
My love for hair and makeup started in high school. My friends were always asking me to do their makeup for dances, and I would have so much fun doing it! Makeup really drew me into the beauty industry but doing hair seemed so intimidating! Once I graduated high school I went on to Tricoci University and found out that hair is not scary, and I actually really loved it! I loved facing new challenges everyday at school and seeing people walk out with a smile. I graduated Tricoci in July of 2020 and have been a protégé at Something You since late February. I love being here so much and feel like I am learning more than ever! I love being able to help every stylist in some way or even just watch how they do things and still learn. I cannot wait to continue my career here!
I really enjoy learning all new and different techniques of foiling and balayaging, and I love doing fun colors or any thing that’s out of the ordinary. Learning about new trends and how to achieve the look is so much fun!

As a little girl I was always drawn to the beauty industry and staying on the forefront of all the new trends and styles. I remember the days I'd go to my grandmother's salon trying to convince her to wax my eyebrows or even getting a perm for the first time. Throughout the years my hobbies haven't changed and I find myself spending hours upon hours watching YouTube videos on how to do different braids, styling techniques, or searching for the best makeup dupes for high end brands. I did this for years before I finally decided this was and always has been the career for me.
In February 2019 I enrolled at Tricoci University Of Beauty and began my journey in cosmetology. Nothing makes me feel better than watching someone's face light up after a service from me. My favorite techniques include vivid colors and anything blonding! I look forward to building my knowledge, experience and clientele here at Something You and I hope to have you in my chair soon!
When I started to look at what I wanted to do in life I was very unsure of myself and how long I would enjoy it. I decided to tour Paul Mitchell in December of 2019 and I fell in love with hair and the culture of the salon environment. I decided that would be my career path. During school I found just how rewarding it is seeing every guest leave feeling confident and happy. I always wanted to push myself and keep growing. I graduated in under a year, and I am so excited to be working and learning under the all stylists at Something you.
