I originally moved to Champaign from Florida to study Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, and decided to take a break from my studies to do some serious self-conscious growth!

While I was in Alex’s chair getting my hair dyed, (because what screams transformation period more than radically changing your hair?!—its where all self love starts), I was taken by surprise by how inviting and kind all the women at Something You were. The kind of space where their number one goal was not just a haircut or color, but about delivering the true betterment of an individual. The love and pure intent to just help each other smile and feel secure within their community was amazing, and something I wanted to be a part of!

Now I get the lucky opportunity to work with these amazing young women every day, and put myself in a work environment one could only dream of! SYS has helped me grow as a person so much already, and I want to give back as much as I can by putting extra smiles on everyone’s faces. It’s a rare space where guests and workers come to feel safe and beautiful. I can’t wait to see the kind of people we get through our doors each day!
